About Baba Farid University of Health Sciences
BFUHS was established by the Government of Punjab to promote medical education, health sciences education, research, training, and healthcare development in Punjab. The university serves as the affiliating health sciences university for numerous medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and allied health sciences institutions across the state.
Establishment and History
Baba Farid University of Health Sciences was established in July 1998 under Punjab Act No. 18 of 1998.
The university was named after the renowned Punjabi Sufi saint Baba Farid.
The primary objective behind establishing BFUHS was to create an intellectual, academic, and research environment for developing health professionals capable of meeting the healthcare needs of society.
